Participate

People across Switzerland encounter generative AI in different ways – in how they learn, work, decide, create, and connect. These experiences vary widely across ages, regions, languages, and professions. Although direct participation in the nationally representative survey is not open to individual registration, we warmly invite everyone to engage with the project’s themes. If you would like to share your experiences with AI or contribute perspectives from your community, you can contact us at s.cortesi@ikmz.uzh.ch. We also welcome people who wish to help translate the project’s insights for wider audiences — including parents, teachers, practitioners, or the general public — as well as artists, illustrators, and creatives interested in contributing their perspective.

For Schools & Teachers
Generative AI is already shaping how young people learn, search, collaborate, and express themselves. Yet their voices are often missing from public debates about AI in education and society. The ai-dentities youth survey gives students the opportunity to share their real experiences – anonymously, safely, and in a scientifically grounded way. → Register your school’s interest (button)

Why involve your school?

  • Empower your students: They contribute to a national study about a technology that directly affects their learning and future.
  • Support evidence-based education policy: The insights will help schools, cantons, and national bodies understand how AI is used by young people – inside and outside the classroom.
  • Easy to implement: Surveys take about 10-15 minutes and can be integrated into any subject period (ICT, social studies, language classes, project hours, etc.).
  • Safe & compliant:
    • Fully anonymous
    • No accounts, no login
    • No collection of personal data

How it works

  1. We provide a simple link to the survey (no setup required).
  2. Teachers share the link during class or via the school platform.
  3. Students complete the survey on their phone, tablet, or laptop.
  4. Schools receive optional teaching materials and a short summary of national findings once available.

Prompt: A cinematic close-up portrait of a young person with red hair and freckles sitting by a window on a modern tram or train. Sunlight streams through the window, illuminating their face as they gaze thoughtfully outside. Green scenery passes by in the background. Calm, introspective mood, shallow depth of field, natural light, realistic skin texture, modern European public transport. Optional style modifiers: golden hour light, 50mm lens, quiet reflection, cinematic realism
